I have been taking art classes off and on my entire life, but it wasn't until I retired in my early 50s that I was able to really dive into painting. Now I paint most days, usually in my studio, but sometimes "en plein air." My preferred medium is oil as well as oil mixed with cold wax. Abstract realism best describes my style.
I think all artists are inspired by nature and nature's colours, and I'm no different. Landscapes, seascapes, trees and sunsets are such fun to paint, but I also paint people, their pets and the occasional mural. My art is mainly about interpreting shapes and colours. I have lived in Victoria, B.C. for over 30 years and am proud to make this beautiful city and province my home. My studio is called Lakeside Art Studio and is located on beautiful Prospect Lake at 5014 Echo Drive, Victoria, B.C.
